Met with Redline at Confederation Basin.  Swapped crew.

We planned to sail back slowly

Axiom was functionally badly and eventually blew the breaker.  We ended up using an iPad for navigation.

Met John at Gano

One day of sailing from Stave to

weekend with Darla and Natalia

I had invited Natalia and Darla to sail on Saturday. They came late - about 2PM.

There was no wind so we motored out. We had thought of going to St. Annes but decided on the sandbars.

Swam, tunes, Glenlivit, Bud lime,a BBQ trout and other stuff Natalia bought.  We got drunk.  Darla fell asleep at 8 and did not get up so we spent the night at anchor and Darla was up at 5, we chatted had breakfast.  It rained
overnight and we bought the boat back to the harbour.

The girls left and I did a quick tidy up of the boat and went to Real and then Kingston to meet up for crew change on Redline.

Friday Fun Race with Michel and Nadine and David

Jimmy had an accident and was in the hospital getting stitches on his head.  He could not race so I called David to join Michel and Nadine who just inherited a shark and wanted to learn to race.

We had a great time.  Lots of fun.  Supper afterwards.

Single handed to IPYC after lots of chores at the club.

Wednesday I got dressed up for a meeting on Trans Canada in Dorval.  Took the car in as it looked like a risk of rain and may not be back home until after Redline's return,  The meeting was quick and I did some errands on Doneganni and got some food from Adonis.

I emptied the boat of extra sails and other stuff.  I put the battery charger on Cygnus, She is in pretty bad shape.  Dirty and very wet.

On Thursday I lounged around, setting up the big clock on Perception, waited around for Patrick to finish his meetings so we could look over Cygnus.  He was discouraged too.

Winds picked up a bit, it was hot so, at 4PM, I motored out, ending up at the west end of the bay beside the club.  I anchored and went for a swim and nap.  About 5, a hovercraft came by to inspect the groundings reported to them near AD14.

The winds picked up, I sailed south and then tacked towards the gut.  I almost hit a powerboat that was being boarded by police.  They were in my blind spot behind the sail.  Pretty cool collision avoidance by the cool captain.  Not even a blink.

I passed or was passed by Ghost Owl, Erindale, Chaos and Gaucho on the way to the race.  I decided to race so I put up the main and raced to the start but was too late and it was too crowded to have a have respectable opportunity to start so I just sailed around the windward and gybe marks watching and avoiding the competitors.

Later I sailed to Ile Perrot and decided to dock at IPYC at 9:20 because the forecasted winds were high overnight.  The gate was locked.so I did not / could not check-in.

Nice evening, heavy rain overnight.  Left at 10 back to the club in a broad reach and run.  Arrived at the club at about 12:40.

Anchor at Sandbars and then single handed race

After the new member cocktail party, I motored out to the Sandbars.  Zig Zag, Fugu and Don't Panic were there.  Only Don't Panic spent the night

On Sunday morning, Darla came to visit. We tied up.  She had engine problems.  We detached as she limped back to watch soccer (Italy vs Britain) as I did the single-handed race.

Luc sent me the course and start times.  The race lasted 3 hours of light wind sailing - most of what was fetching.

I came in 9th out of 12, but I did well.

post race

The race was followed by some beer on the lawn and I biked back to the office to rid myself of the credenza.

Cancelled Strathcona - Sailing with Syvlie

The Strathcona race was cancelled due to a lack of wind.

I did my Yoga class and Sylvie and I went for a sail to Pointe Clair and back.  Observed Shark No 4 bypass the gut, reported it to Liam and Brian.

We did the new member cocktail with Maud and Sylvie.

Forecasted winds

FFR with Andrei and Greg s

My crew was limited.  Only Andrei had confirmed.  Greg wanted to join us as we were walking to the dock Andrie had very limited experience. ...
