Maud was racing on Gaucho with SPI
Sylvie and I went out at 17h10 and sailed from the channel to the race area. We sailed around waiting for the start. Nice to be early.
I was setting up the race timer when I had to do collision avoidance duty. Missed the 5 and 4-minute timing and followed the fleet making a best guess on the timing I was off by 20 seconds.
We trailed behind the fast boat but were challenged by My. On the first beat, we outpointed her. We beat her on raches. On the second upwind, she pointed much higher than us Final reaches, we beat her.
Nice sail back.
While escorting Sylvie, I met Maud and Peter and they came over for beer, pizza and salmon confit.
I slept aboard.
