Early Satuday moring, I hauled anchor and sailed back to the club for Yoga and coaching Eric, Dine and Lucie.
Coach's Corner
Eric was very determined to use the French site. He did learn a lot about the Offical Notice Board, SI and NOR's.
Eric was a very nervous. And cautious. The winds were light and he was scared to go close haul. Taking was sloppy. He was not comfortable to head up. I could not imagine him heading to the windward mark.
He is supposed to go out with Bellum next Saturday for the Chilli Bowl race.,
After the sail, we had lunch aboard Resolute.
| Satuday morning winds were farily light. |
Monday night, four sharks went out with the Royal Staff. 4PM to 6:45PM.
Looked like there was not much wind, but it turned out nice. Ben and John were with me on Shark 3
A request for sailing lesson for some Moroccan friend who chartered a Jeanneau 36 in Guadalupe.
Basically one of them had some crewing experiance in Europe and wanted to try sailing together. They did a 3 hour lesson with Obama in Longueuil.
We did gybing, tacking, anchoring, discussed mooring balls, hove through and docking.
It rained in the morning, but cleared up just as they arrived.
Wish them fair winds on their charter.

No winds in forecast so on Friday evening, we decided to call off the race for BELLUM. Bad choice IMHO. Seven boats went out on Saturday morning and sailed for 3.5 to 4.5 hours.
Scarett picked me up at home at 1:30 and we sailed from the Gut to Dowkers, and then motored to St. Anne de Bellevue, docked BBQ corn, barvette and potatoes and several salads that Scarlett brought.
After supper, we walked the docks and the boardwalk. Then we motored out in darkness with a flashlight through the breakwater, motored to Dowkers and then sailed in beam to close reach in 2 to 3.5 knot. About 10, we passed the church, we started the motor to return to the club just after 11. Scarlett tried docking but we turned too late and I took over at the last minute. Scarlett drove home as I slept aboard.
Earlier Thursday was going to be wet, but that changed so after the private sailing lesson, I biked to IGA and picked up a T-bone and sailed out to Dowkers at 5:30.
Tacked through the channel to the gut and the.n tacked to Dowkers at 7:30 in the sunset when I contacted Redline who was at Dowkers South to see if he wanted company.
We rafted up. I had a senior moment trying to figure out which was her port or starboard side.
He had already eaten so I BBQ my bachelor steak and potatoes and had it in Redline cockpit.
Lounged around until noon, had a zoom tour of a Jeanneau 45.2.
Departed about 3, sailed back to the club following Redline.
Took the Del Sol to Ikea and TnT market to replace broken dishes and groceries.
Saturday afternoon, I did Yoga at 2, Arkavan and then headed to the club. I had the car packed with winter cover and more, getting ready fo...
