Bring Beneteau from Valleyfield to Pointe Claire YC

Ian had just bought a Beneteau and needed help to bringing her back to PCYC.  Eventually, she is going to QYC in Quebec City.

I slept aboard BELLUM and got up early to meet Ian at PCYC, where his father drove us to Valleyfield.

There were no navigation instruments or a depth gauge, and when I took the helm, I hit a rock.  I was outside the channel.

We took the zig-zag channel since Ian was concerned about the depth at the windmill point channel.

The day was hot.  Upon arrival, I went to Addison's and the boathouse to get new screws for my compass housing.

Single Handed Race on Shark 2

I booked Shark 2 and took off with the Torqeedo, but it failed before reaching the GUT.

The RC waited for the two sharks before starting.

The sharks, consisting of Sharks 1 and 2, were scratch boats, meaning they started the race from a 'scratch' or 'zero' position.  We did okay,  and I managed to keep up with Shark 1 throughout the race.

St Jean to PCYC

I took Bellum without her Mast to PCYC with the plan to see the St. Jean Baptist fireworks.

Walked through Alexandre-Bourgeau Park, which was rather lame.... I came back to the PCYC club, had a beer with Lorezo and then had supper with Bruce and Ron.

Bill came by to invite us to his boat to see the fireworks.  I took him up on it, and we rafted up to Genesis and Lorenzo for the fireworks.

Return to the Pointe Claire Club and stay overnight there at the dock.

The next morning, I lingered over a free PCYC coffee and eventually returned to the Royal, where I worked to tidy up Bellum some more.

FFR with Heather and Francois on TARA ii

Before going to the club, I went to the locker room and changed my winter tires for summer tires.  Took only 20 minutes for the Honda

With the BELLUM mast down, I participated in an FFR fun race with Heather and Francois on Tara II.

Lots of wind, No. 1 jib.  Heather helmed

Supper at the club and cocktails on Zig Zag and breakfast on BELLUM, followed by Yoga.

Completed a significant amount of work, including cleaning and decluttering, on Bellum.  Helped Norm move the dinghy to the foredeck to fix his floor

Returned to Montreal

I returned to Dorval at 1 PM with Jessica and Jeromy as the crew for the Seaway locks.

JPC was hogging the sheer leg, so I was not able to use Jessica and Jeromy to remove the mast from BELLUM

I stayed around to tidy up and move things to the locker and then returned the BMW.  It was a long bus ride.  The buses were on strike but were running for the F1 weekend.

Sunday, Jason and I removed the mast, and I did some major tidy up, putting frame into the car to bring back to the locke.r

Monday, Will and Evett were available to inspect and prepare quotes for boat and mast servicing.  I rode my bike 55 miles.

Sooo busy

Systems check with Chiheb and Brian

Norm bought me an 8 HP Johnson/

Saturday Brian came up from Vermont.  Chieb came helped prepare BELLUM for her big adventure.

Set up new chocks for docking lines, installed dingy towing patches and dinghy tow rigging

Chris was lingering around and we were busy so I assigned him to install a carbon water filter for the boat tanks which he succeeded in.

Sunday we tested the new systems - sailed to the sandbars, had some steak hache and came back.  Chris showed up and we had some MMHA beer at the club.

Meet up with Aissam and Salim

The weather looked good, but there was a chance of rain in the afternoon.  Joe saw thunderstorms and cancelled, saying it was too dangerous....
