The weather was nice, COVID closed us down.  I took down the cover on the weekend

 I've been working on my new cover when on April 7 and found the club was closed.  Cover is delayed until November

Last sail of season

Norm and Pat came out for a nice sail in 16 degree weather with good southerly winds

Once past the Gut, it we headed south on a beat.  On the way back the winds backed and we were closed haul. 

Came back into the harbour and we removed and folded the sail.  Season is over. Haul out Monday

Weather was nice and warm and light winds.

Cindy and I sailed Bellum out to the middle of the lake in light eastern winds.  Sunset was 18:00 so we put down the sails and anchored had pork chop supper in the sunset.

The winds were supposed to pick up with significant from the east about 5AM. We decided it would be better to dock rather than anchor near the club so we motored back to the club.

Thanksgiving at Grand Anse

I left the dock with some help from Bob in a south wind.

Had a nice easy sail to Grand Anse, nice evening.  Great sunset, awesome full hunter moon.  It was very bright.  Nice evening.  Great sunrise.  Calm morning.  Temperature was 10.  Fairly nice.

I sailed for an hour, followed by some drifting and then motored back to the club.

I gassed up, did a big pump out, fixed the missing port spreader end with rigging tape and cleaned up and lubricated main halyard sheave.

Cleaned up the boat and then biked to Access Electronics and did Indian groceries.  Nice bike ride through Bois-de-Liesse Nature Park.  What a nice park.  Then dropped in on Chris to pick up a cake he got for me at Costco.

Frostbite III

Chris, Norm and I went out at 9AM in nice crisp blue sky morning for the Frostbite.

Winds were very light and we only had the 135 with no spinnaker.

We did the first circuit and could not make it to the mark in the second circuit.  We abandon the race.

We sucked.  I think I am going to buy a cruising boat or take up golf.

Nice sail upwind and down wind back to the club.









Chris painted boat name on his cradle and I took the dinghy around Dorval Island to drain the 915 watt battery to about half.  It was at 35 percent.

I helped Norm fold his head sail.  He went home.

The weather was very nice so I decided to go out for the night for Thanksgiving.  Bob helped me depart in a south wind. See the next blog entry.

Value Investment Meet-Up

Wakeup to Sun Rise

I slept aboard.  Got up to Sun Rise, had breakfast and greeted Jeff and Ryan for a quick sail before our Value Investing meet-up.

Winds were light from the east, we sailed to around SL 33 and back to the gut and motored back to the harbour at 1 for the 2PM meet-up.

After the meetup some stayed for supper and Jeff, Ryan, Frank and Khoa came aboard for a post mortem with Mr Bushmill and Mr. Jameson.
